Woodside School Reopens After Vandal Damage

Blood clinic to be held at Acton Legion venue
Acton residents are urged to attend a Red Cross blood clinic at the Legion Auditorium on Thursday November 17. The drive runs from 2:00 to 4:30 pm and 6:30 to 9:00 pm with nurses from the Hamilton Red Cross on site and Legion Ladies Auxiliary assisting. Workmen Rush Jobs at Church for Quiet Organ Tuning
Workmen rush to complete the United Church sanctuary ahead of its Sunday dedication. Wood panelling and balcony stairs are near completion while carpet and furniture arrive today. Theatre Closes End November Lost Money
The silver screen in Acton will be blacked out on November 26 as Roxy manager Murray Harrison confirms the Gdeen chain theatre, owned by Mrs. Gregory of Oakville, will close. After two years of financial losses and a recent brief reprieve, attendance has dwindled with 25 to 35 on weekdays and 80 to 90 percent weekend business, sustained mainly by students who will miss the town’s sole entertainment venue.
