Remembrance Day Service Plans In Acton
Acton Branch of the Canadian Legion with the Reeve and local clergy organize the annual Remembrance Day events on Monday November 11. The parade forms at 10:30 a.m. and moves to Soldiers' Monument by 10:55 a.m. wreaths will be laid as Last Post and Reveille sound. following church service at Knox Presbyterian, with medal presentation to Miss Jean Bennie for essay. Legionnaires depart for Rockwood and Nassagnaya later.

Acton Man Buys High Class Holstein Calf from Wallenstein
Robert Kerr of Acton Ontario purchased Paul Mercena Jewel a high class Holstein bull calf from Anisy Wilkinson of Wallenstein. The calf is sired by Paul Yrancy Parch junior champion at the CNK in 1930 and shadowed by strong dam lines with noted production and butterfat records.

Halton County Plowing Match in Rainy Showdown
The Halton County Plowing Match at William Moore’s Esquesing farm drew 42 contestants and 34 walking plows in six classes despite heavy rain. Alex Black of Guelph won the walking plow class and the Halton Silver Cup, with Claude Pickett, Lyle Dales, and Wilfred Snow earning top team and youth honors. A banquet at Ligny School closed the day with speeches from Ontario Plowmen’s Association leaders and local officials.

Acton District News Reports McDowell Funeral and Matthews England Visit
The furerail of Samuel McDowell was held at the residence of his daughter Mrs Olver Buck Kerr Street Galt with interment at Evergreen Cemetery Milton. A large number of friends attended to pay respects. The service was led by Rev GC Miue- Donald and pallbearers included Reid Rous Olver Yuck McDowell Milton and Joseph Weir Campbellville. Mr A Matthews a former Actonian and Tur Fare Pursa graduate received a news item this week. Mr and Mrs Matthews and Mr and Mrs Taylor Stutten have spent two months touring England Scotland and Wales by motor. He notes Acton England Acton East Acton and Acton West and that the district hosts notable factory buildings of advanced design. On Wednesday evening Unity Men's Club met at the United Church school room with Jack Reid in charge. After a hymn and prayer by E W Vincent committee reports discussed club work and a letter from the Secretary of the M C A Governors about the club joining that organization. The meeting ended with social time at the valley ball and a shower.
