A Halton county convoy will join Niagara Falls New York fire teams for a simulated atomic bomb raid. If an Ontario bombing occurred 174 fire pumpers would be needed. The Public Utilities Commission met to review screen prices for two sewage lift station windows and approved a $62 order with Shipway Iron and Wire Co. J Goy raised a fire loss repair bill. the commission kept the original charge. The meter on Mrs. Mowat’s account tested slow by 3 percent and remained as issued. Lightning Strikes Campbellville Barn Total Loss
A bolt of lightning hit the farm of Peter Paterson at R. R. 1 Campbellville three miles north of the village at 11 p m Monday. The barn was a total loss with damage estimated between 10 000 and 12 000 and only partly covered by insurance. Pigs a calf and barn contents were destroyed. Milton fire brigade remained until 4 a m to stop spread to nearby buildings.

A Monday storm hit the house of H Holmes on Park Ave. six small windows and a large sun porch window were shattered. A hole opened above the foundation and interior damage occurred. No fire. Exterior siding and basement electricals were damaged. Lightning also struck Lind say's Mill silos.

A large crowd gathered at Campbellville Athletic Grounds on May 23 for the seventh annual fireworks display themed Coronation. The Campbellville Tennis Club sponsored the event, featuring a royal coronation salute and a parachute flag. A girls softball game earlier had Campbellville vs Haltonville.
