An Ospringe man, Stoy Webb, was accidentally shot Tuesday while climbing a fence with a rifle. The bullet entered just below the heart near the lung and kidney, near the backbone. He was taken to Guelph Hospital and is expected to be held for several days.

Loot Recovered After Acton Robbery In Toronto

The Acton and Vicinity War Service League announced income from its fortnightly meeting with donations from Bannockburn Dublin Women’s Institutes and Scout Mothers’ Auxiliary totaling 349.10. Other gifts included 450 from Lukeside Chapter of the LODE and 63.95 salvage funds. The group said salvage income is not a steady source and noted plans to build a larger glass storage box and compile a new volunteer list to avoid interruptions. The league has administered 6 616.07 since its formation less than two years ago.
