Using Weed Sprays Safely in 1965 Canada
In 1965 Canadians spent nearly 40 million dollars on herbicides, more than combined insecticides and fungicides. Ontario treated about one and three-quarters million acres. Weed killers must be used at correct rates and growth stages. Read labels and consult Guide to Chemical Weed Control. Potential harms include drift and vapor damage to nearby plants, soil movement affecting roots, crop damage from wrong chemical or timing, and risks to children and animals. Store chemicals in original containers and dispose of empties properly.
