Oakville council will not pursue amalgamation with Milton after earlier hints. The proposed merger faced criticism labeled a shotgun arrangement by Oakville official Alan Day. Milton seeks to annex about 2,000 acres from North Oakville, warning annexation would strain water and sewage services and fuel population growth.
