Mrs. Ada Davidson of R R 4 Action is third in the Farmer’s Advocate annual crossword puzzle contest winning 1000 dollars. The event restricts entrants with prior winnings over 3000 to keep the field open. First prize went to Mrs. A Wiebe of Wellesley Ontario with a 1051 score. A grass fire behind the public school near the railroad track was reported at 5:45 PM Tuesday. Firemen flooded the area with hose spray while children and men beat the flames, then a tow truck freed the stuck fire engine. Three-Year-Old Rescued From Fairy Lake After Fall
A three year old, Karen Heller, fell into Fairy Lake while playing with her brother Ronnie. Painter Alex Frank, working nearby, waded in and saved her from underwater.
