Fréd Hanson Jr. was injured at Acton Limestone Quarries around 10 p.m. He was hospitalized with serious injuries and underwent surgery. A hospital report listed Grok Wik as injured in a trackpile tunnel while breaking a frozen mass of gravel as railway cars were rushed for shipment to Toronto.
L A Campbell kept records of birds seen over months in his garden at 214 Mil St EF and counted 16 species. The list includes blue jay red breasted nuthatch white breasted nuthatch evening grosbeak song sparrow tree sparrow purple finch robin and several others. He and his son Ted Campbell feed the birds with sunflower seeds totaling 50 pounds.
