When You Are Old and March Echoes From 1883
A reminiscence ties a World War era poem to a March 1883 snapshot of Acton. The column lists local notes: tramps in cells, church property moves, maple wood saved in minutes, spring openings for mills, new currency, rental woes, a skating championship, property sales, a railway bill, sidewalk demands, an illicit whiskey case, and a planned skating rink. The piece ends with a reflection on fifty years past and how memories return.
