Rural Township Unveils $20,000 Fire Engine To Area Officials
A new 820,000 fire engine arrived at Acton for the Rural Fire Area and was welcomed by Acton officials Nassagaveya Erin and Exquesing Townships with the Acton Volunteer Fire Department. The unit built to specifications includes a 1000 horsepower pump, ladders, booster hose, a 1200 watt electrical system and space for eight firemen. Walter Linham received the keys from Joe Dunseith as Mayor W. H. Cook and other officials attended. A luncheon followed and a pumping demonstration was held at the school creek. Old 1927 Studebaker remains stored nearby.
