Y's Men Dress In Green For Guelph Club Visit
The Acton Y's Men’s Club visited the Guelph Club on Monday night to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Members wore green neckties and attended a dinner speaker and bridge session. The Badminton Club was a guest, with Acton players joining the event under one roof. At the club’s recent meeting plans for summer dances at the Arena were announced with BH Clayton named chairman and others assigned duties.

Pay Roll Theft Reported at Beardmore Plant
About $625 in payroll funds from Benard more & Co. disappeared from foreman Robert Turner's desk at Beardmore Plant. Turner had begun pay envelope distribution early and some envelopes were already handed out when thieves struck. Cripps saw two youths run off with money leaving the desk drawers pulled open. Police investigated and questioned several workers who were cleared.

Two Injured In Collision On Second Line
Mrs. Alvin Fisher of Acton was taken to Guelph General Hospital with possible fractured leg and chest injuries after a Monday evening crash on Second Line about three miles north of Acton. Her son Harvey Fisher, 24, and Playford Lehmann, 14, were also hurt but Lehmann’s injuries did not require hospital care. Johnston, 28, drove the other car as Constable Phil Seibert investigated. Wheels caught in ruts, preventing a stop. damage estimated at $600.

March Meeting of Knox WMS at Mrs Buchanan's
The Knox WMS met March 11 at Mrs. Buchanan's home. Mrs. Buchanan led with prayer and readings on India while Mrs. Barr, Hassard, McCron, Allison and others presented lessons on Hindus, Bhils, Moslems, and Christians. A meditation by Mrs. Blow followed. The group planned the Easter Thankoffering and enjoyed lunch and social time, thanking Mrs. Buchanan for her hospitality.

Three Injured After Waterloo Car Crash En Route Home
Returning from a game in Waterloo last Wednesday night, a car driven by Gordon Bilton of Acton left the road on No 7 Highway a few miles east of Kitchener and overturned. Bilton sustained a broken leg, Keith Robertson head lacerations, and Lawrence Yule cuts and concussion. Mr and Mrs Tennant and Miss Fryer and Miss Turner escaped with a bad shaking up and returned to Acton by car.

Tanners Win First Game From Peach Kingsley 3 2
Acton edged Grimsby 3 2 in a hard fought hockey clash before a crowd of over 1500 at the Acton arena. Dooney Evans starred for Grimsby while Tito Marzo Norm Morton and Townsley led Acton scoring two goals. A rematch is set for Friday in Grimsby as both teams prepare for further league play.
