Squeeze in a Bridge Hand at Acton Club

Bridge experts discuss a squeeze possibility in one hand. At Acton Bridge Club, two declarers showed a simple squeeze on Board No. 7, East dealer, both vulnerable. The hand featured long play from a 3NT contract, with spades and clubs and careful entries enabling 12 tricks despite partial visibility of opponents’ distribution.

Two hearts lead finish the job in bridge squeeze

East can discard a diamond but then has no good choice. If East discards a second diamond, declarer plays the diamond ace to set up dummy's ten while East discards a club, then the ace and king of clubs establish declarer’s seven. A good example of the simple squeeze. Last week’s winners were first Bill Hamilton and Bob Remington, second Harry Frost and Jon Bertasson, third Ernie Dawson and Bill Coats.
