Galt Skaters Thrill Crowd On Booster Night Show
Nearly 700 spectators braved cold to view the Galt Figure Skating Club annual Booster Night program at Acton arena. Western Ontario and Niagara Peninsula junior pairs champions Linki Ann Ward and Neil Carpenter drew applause with a waltz to recorded music. The program opened with Squirts hockey, featured skaters in period costumes, band music from Acton and junior bands, and solo routines including Ted Lewis tribute, Mon opals of Spain, and a Dutch number by Terry Peer and Rene Shaver. Draws awarded several prizes as intermission entertainment preceded the concluding acts and a Legion auditorium reception.

Darts Injury After Bus Incident Near Acton
Roy Rognvaldson, 11, son of Mr and Mrs Gurdon Rognvaldson, was struck by a northbound car on Highway 25 near his Acton home after exiting a school bus on Thursday March 3. He received a broken arm and was treated at the scene by Dr D A Garrett before being taken to Guelph hospital, with police cruiser transport part of the way. Cyril W Stone of Acton drove the car. the boy was awaiting return to school next week per North Halton O P P officer statement.

Firemen Answer Two Calls Saturday
Acton Hieman reported two calls Saturday as firemen responded to a heat issue at F. Kentner residence on Victoria Avenue where an overheated heater caused no damage. Later that afternoon they rushed to Hazen Garden in QUENT Townships on Highway 25 near Speyside for a overheated heating system repair, with residents containing the blaze before fire crews arrived.
