Ballinafad Cub Pack and Scout Troop marked Scout Week with a church parade in Roux Church Georgetown at 3 p.m. on February 18 and uniform wear on February 22 for Baden Powell's birthday. Cubs led a snow shovelling Good Turn, hot chocolate and doughnuts served by the Scout Mothers Auxiliary. A store display in Smiths Store showcased week activities. Plans and honors included a banquet with leaders and social committee, and slides of a Norway trip shown by Ed Jager.

Acton Junior Farmers held their annual banquet and dance last Friday evening at Ebeneger church. About 50 attended. a turkey dinner was served. Jean Motta chaired and reported on Uesears activities. Joey Hayward, in the ladies’ trio, helped win the provincial championship. County president W Wilson and Mrs Wilson sat at the head table with Doug Burnside, Frances Lampanan, Sandy Buchangin, and Hatton Junior Farmers past president. Ron Hayward thanked the group. Mr Buchanan presented the slate of new officers.
