Tennis courts clash over park land plans in Acton
The recreation committee asked to build new tennis courts on park land near the high school on Mill St. E. The parks board cited no budget and insufficient land, while the high school board has not replied. A 75 percent education grant previously existed for school property courts. The land rezoning by Beardmore and Co. and funding hurdles delay progress as clubs seek an approved site and possible amalgamation between bodies. Local notes recall recent sports events and fundraisers.
