Mrs W J Reid entertained the Junior LOD at her home last Wednesday night with music games and a sumptuous lunch reported a very good time. Congregation reflects on a flourishing pastorate with many kindly feelings.
A Burlington Women’s Institute party of five or more sustained multiple injuries when their car from Nelson village crossed into oncoming traffic on Dundas Street Highway. Driver Herbert Dynes and three others were badly hurt. Another car from Milton, driven by Mr Stephenson, caused the crash. Dr T W Peart treated injuries before transporting the injured to homes.
William McDonald died at his daughter’s home in Toronto on Friday June 11 after a five week illness. He was elder at Ballinafad Church and survived by three sons and three daughters. Funeral held Monday at Ballinafad Church with Rev. N Waddell and Rev A C Stewart officiating. He was born September 9 1853 on the Esquesing homestead and married Sarah M Gordon forty four years ago. He leaves two sisters and one brother plus many relatives and friends.
A quiet June 6 ceremony at United Church Parsonage united Jessie Jene Thompson and William Kilty with Rev. J E Zimmerman presiding. The couple, of Toronto and Nossagaweya, planned a Buffalo trip and a future residence in Toronto.
John Ranton died at Palmerston Hospital from severe burns suffered when coal oil used to light a fire exploded Friday. An inquest was deemed unnecessary. The house was destroyed by the blaze. In Guelph a two car head on collision on Dundas bridge blocked traffic. Kennedy faces reckless driving charge. Leblanc and Chappel charged with intoxication. Case adjourned to Wednesday per Magistrate Watt.
