Acton Park Swimming Pool Project Endorsed
A public meeting last Thursday endorsed the Acton Park swimming pool project with a near unanimous vote. The executive committee led by A. Mason will organize sub committees to handle phases of the project with a target of 25,000 dollars funded by 10,000 from subscriptions, 5,000 from Acton industries, 5,000 from the Ontario Government Community Hnols Act and 5,000 from retail business. The pool is planned for Acton Park and fundraising will begin this summer for an early start in 1949. Public canvassing will occur weekly with ongoing publicity and finance committees formed to begin. Citizens of all ages urged to save and donate.

At Yellow Briar Farm Orangeville on Wednesday evening June second a bedroom and cup and saucer shower was held for Mrs Ralph McKeown nee Eleanor McDougall. The room was decorated with pink and white streamers as a pink and white basket held gifts.
