A packed Acton gathering honored the 1939 Acton Tanners Intermediate B O.H.A. champions with dinner, toasts, and speeches. Reeve F.P. J. McCutcheon led the program while dignitaries from O.H.L.A. and O.H.A. praised the team and community support.
Halton County Council in Milton discusses replacing multiple fairs with a county wide fair and approves grants for fall fairs in Milton Georgetown and Acton. Delegates from local fair boards urge continued funding while road and clerical issues are reviewed and school board appointments are made.
Acton's baseball opener vs Georgetown ends in an extra inning tilt. Cripps pitched steadily for Acton while Cripps, Molozzie and Bayliss faced early runs as Georgetown fielded newcomers and built a five to four score after five innings. The game extended into extra innings with key plays by Brush Lamb and Ritchie, as both teams battled for the deciding run.

Acton Scouts won the Wooden Shield for the second straight year at the Halton County Jamboree near Bronte. About 400 scouts from Acton and neighboring towns competed, with Acton placing top through 24 points.

Dr Beatty was elected First Vice President of the Acton Conservatives at a local meeting ahead of the Halton County Conservative Association gathering in Milton. H L Ritchie and Mrs D H Lindsay named Second Vice President and Lady Vice President. Ward chairmen were J B Shelton W Chisholm C F Leatherland and E Harrop. George W Thorpe Burlington Conservative candidate addressed the meeting in accord with a better government. John Irving Milton president of the County Association spoke.
Halton Jersey Breeders Club will hold a picnic and field day at Chestnut Jersey Farm owned by Col. W H MacKendrick in Oakville. Speaker Jas Bremner of the Canadian Jersey Cattle Club will headline June 8 with judging contests open to men women and juniors and special prizes. All Jersey breeders and families are invited to MacKendrick Park, a Halton beauty spot.
Transportation officials publish a route to guide Halton school children to a Main Street East gathering for the Royal visit on June 7. Vehicles must avoid Main Street zones while signs direct arrivals from Beach Road to Burling ton Street Sherman Avenue King Street and Burris or Sandford to the reserved north side area between Burris and Sandford. Children should be seated by 1.30 pm DST. No car parking within a block of Main Street.
Acton faces Oakville in a Saturday afternoon match at three o clock DST. The event invites local fans to cheer the team and aim for another championship.
