Col Douglas Clapman, a British officer resident on Locust Street, is being recalled to England to help establish a Canadian proving ground for increased output. raspberries drive locals to forage along side roads and some canned berries are offered for sale. Fred Brankma’s new bicycle was stolen from Tuck's schoolhouse yard and later found stripped of tires. Police were called when youths distorted a bridge into a pirate-ship on the riverbank.
