Halton County Council Sets 1.49 General Rate Plus 3.01 Road Levy
Halton County Council met at Milton with seven members present and discussed By-law 729 to levy a General Rate of 1.49 mills, a debt service levy of 2.01 mills, and a roads levy of 1.0 mill on equalized county assessments. Miss Margaret Garvin Injured in Toronto Street Crash
Miss Margaret Garvin was struck by an automobile on Mill Street near noon last Friday. The car, driven by Miss Gladys M. Gaynor of 273 Lauder Avenue Toronto, triggered the collision as Garvin crossed opposite the Post Office. She sustained a bump on the forehead and bruises and was taken to hospital in Guelph for X rays. she is now recovering.

Picnic Day Afloat With Gentle Games And Falls
At the event a variety of children's contests were held including a boot and shoe race won by G Taylor and a dresspin race won by Mrs Scriven. J Scriven and O Brown paired in the three legged race while E Footitt and H Creasey took the boys races. A small child escaped a cut hip after a swing fall and another slipped into the creek but was unharmed. The grounds were ideal for the picnic and both children and adults attended, enjoying the Elmite supper afterward.
