Loyd Burt prevented a serious blaze at his Sixth Line Erin farm when his 1951 Ford tractor burst into flames after starting. He unhitched a hay wagon and moved the machine about 50 yards to safety before firefighters arrived. the tractor was destroyed.
Judge Alan Sprague in Milton suspended sentences for three teenagers aged about two years and issued a warning to Halton county students. The youths from Uslington and Waterdown were convicted of possession and trafficking drugs after selling to undercover RCMP in February. He urged deterrence and noted the social pull of drugs while warning of legal and personal consequences.

A Friday night drinking party near Speyside drew 39 Ontario Provincial Police officers from Milton and five detachments. They raided the gathering, arresting 35 party-goers on liquor and trespassing charges. Victims hailed from Hamilton Port Credit Toronto Milton Gabvile and Etobicoke as officers seized a large quantity of liquor.
