Local notes from the Cobble Hill area and surrounding community
A July column surveys local life from new subdivisions and lawns to ongoing road and drainage repairs on Church Street. It notes unoccupied houses, new homes for seven families, a burnt store site, a YMCA hobby lobby project, school broadcasting plans, a golf tournament with dentists, and rainfall related damage. It also mentions a new school bus by Tyler Transport, personal interest items, and community visitors and notices about local church ministers and a health work profile.
Ratepayers Time Wasted At Georgetown Council Meeting
Dr. LeRoy Dale told Georgetown council that too many ratepayers associations extend meetings late. He suggested submitting small matters to committee chairs to save time. Mayor Armstrong proposed a future committee room with advertised nights for ratepayer discussions without blocking access to the full council.
