Longtime Halton County Clerk William Deans Dies

William Deans 68 longtime Halton County clerk and secretary treasurer of the Children’s Aid Society died Monday at his Georgetown home. A funeral service was held Wednesday at MeCture chapel with interment in Greenwood Cemetery. Deans joined Halton County leadership 30 years ago and was active in Masons and St John’s United Church. He was born in Scotland and came to Canada in 1900s. Survived by three daughters Frances and two others in Georgetown and Toronto. County offices closed Wednesday afternoon as a mark of respect.
