Spruce Mite Damage Warns Spruce Plants In Dominion Report
The Entomological Branch of the Dominion Department of Agriculture warns that spruce mites have seriously damaged many spruce varieties. Foliage turns yellowish to rusty brown with fine silk threads on twigs and numerous minute green or brown mites. Trees should be sprayed during the wildwood of June or earlier with lime sulfur at four pounds per 70 gallons of water, avoiding overwatering. The spray residue disappears in a few weeks.
