A poem declares only two kinds of people exist those who lift others and those who lean others leave the weight to the many while the few bear the load. It asks readers which class they belong to and challenges self reflection about contributing or relying on others.
Menu hints show mixed fruit and meat recipes. Pineapple sliced and layered with sweet potatoes apples and ham, baked two hours then sugared and buttered. Chinese chicken blends pineapple butter flour stock seasonings then chicken and almonds served on toast garnish.
Two junket powders prepared with milk and cream, whipped egg white sweetened with sugar, folded with cherries. Serve over junket with fruit salad of cantaloupe orange pear and lemon juice, then a summer fruit salad with lettuce and deviled eggs. Serves 2.

Pastures for swine suggest pasture growth with supplemental grains and milk, penning after four months, and ringing to preserve next year’s pasture.
A stout man rejects boots with round or pointed toes. He insists on square toes unavailable this season. A shop assistant explains pointed toes are fashionable but the man retorts he wears last season's feet. The ad promotes Douglas Egyptian Liniment as a quick remedy for hoof rot or thrush needing four to five applications.
A curious dialogue hints at late night adventures and parental scrutiny. An ad touts Miller's Worm Powders claiming to purge worms and restore health in children, with mention of quick evacuation and improved vitality.
The creditors of William Charles Vallance of Hauging Farmer Township must send names addresses and claim details with security descriptions to the undersigned solicitor.
