An afternoon tea on the lawn at Mr. and Mrs. Williams Water residence drew over forty guests in honor of Rev. and Mrs. Brillinger. A dainty lunch followed and the Rev. Brillinger spoke on church activities.
Milton defeated Acton 15 to 4 as Acton fielded a patched lineup with four regulars out. Ken Clement allowed 10 hits while Norm Morton started and Cripps closed, but Milton’s bats were too strong and Acton could not rally despite three doubles and a triple.
Three base hits by Toletzka and Morton lead Milton over Acton 15 to 4. Clement and Morton key pitching. Waterhouse and Anderson spark offense with multiple hits and stolen bases. Umpire Jackson officiated. other scores include Oakville 7 Georgetown 6 and Milton 12 Oakville 6.
Acton Council formally protests Halton County Council's plan to guarantee Burlington debentures. Meeting notes show opposition due to Acton's absence from the June 27 1934 meeting and concern over representation and legal risk. Transit trader fees and local tax matters were reviewed, with the water dump issue and voter list costs noted.
Thousands from Guelph and across Ontario attended the memorial service for D. Paul Munro K C M P elect for South Wellington. The funeral followed a fatal car crash near Waterdown in which Munro and Mrs Sutherland died, with Mrs Palmer and her two children surviving.

The seventh annual reunion picnic of Dan Howson descendants, from Manitoba and Saskatchewan, gathered at Cuthbert Lush’s Hornby farm. T. A. Howson of Toronto was elected president, J. MacFarland secretary. oldest attendee was 82 year old Mrs. Catherine Thompson, youngest four months old. A quiet wedding followed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. IR. M. MacDonald, Helen Margaret MacDonald marrying William Thomas Arnold Bell of St. Catharines after a ceremony led by Rev. Hi L Bennie. reception and motor trip ended with plans to reside in St. Catharines. The Lorne Rifles Scottish Regimental Band won Waterloo Class B Band Competition with 93 points, beating Hanover. Omar Diggins earned best trombone solo, Joe Wilcox and Frank Carter prize winners. adjudicator Capt. Charles O’Neil.

John William Man 30 of Georgetown Ontario dies on a honeymoon trip near Bermuda aboard the liner Lady Somers. He married Miss Jean Elizabeth Wilson of Westmount, whose parents have been advised. He was a Montreal metallurgical chemist and a University of Toronto graduate. The article also notes upcoming Gregory Theatre showing of The Private Life of Henry VIII starring Charles Laughton and supporting cast with historical scenes.

The McPhail family gathered Saturday afternoon at Mrs. P. McPhail's Campbellville home with about 100 relatives. J. McPhail delivered the welcome, marking his sister's 21st birthday. Mrs. J. Kennedy 87, the hostess's mother, was the oldest attendee. Baseball and sports followed by lawn supper and a Polish Dance violin duet by Jack and Murray McPhail.

The Ontario Rural Softball Association North Group teams Eden Mills Everton Rockwood Bulldogs and Rockwood Church played several games in June. Results include Rockwood Bulldogs 12 over Everton 8 on June 5 and Eden Mills 20 Everton 20 with Rockwood Bulldogs 24 Rockwood Church 14 on June 7.
Lakeside Chapter of the I O D E donated two green bench and table combos at Acton Park on Dominicn Day. Each unit seats about a dozen and follows earlier bench gifts, adding to park improvements enjoyed by the community.
Juvenile League results show the Cubs beating the Little Giants 6 to 3 on Saturday June 30, and the Cubs 14 to 9 over the Braves on Tuesday July 3. Giants toppled Leafs 26 to 16 on Wednesday June 27.
