The Acton United Church of Canada announces Rev. R. E. Zimmerman B A as the new pastor at Willow Street Parsonage. Services set for Sunday July 56 1926 at 7 p m and 10 p m Sunday School, plus Thursday prayer and praise at 7 30 p m.
Minister Rev A C Stewart of Knox Church Acton announces services at Willow Street. Sunday School at 10 clear, Bible Class at 10 42, Communion Service at 11 0, m. with sermon Subject Of such in the Kingdom of Heaven. 7 00 p m The Minister delivers A Searching Sermon. Stranger leaving address with ushers will be called upon by the Pastor.
The Acton church led by Pastor James W Boyd offers Sunday School at 9:46 a.m. and morning service at 11:00 a.m. The Lord's Supper to be administered after the service. Evening service at 7:00 p.m. discusses Nebuchadnezzar, the Man of Pride and His Fall. Monday 8 p.m. combined BYR and Prayer Meeting. All are welcome.

A new glove factory opens in Elgin Street Baptists Church building. Court ruling finds contributory negligence in a hay load accident near Acton.
Beardmore & Co held an annual picnic in Acton with over two hundred Toronto visitors. Acton won the baseball shield 16 to 15 over Toronto after a full day of races, games, and a group photo, with evening entertainment planned but rain curtailed outdoor events.
The one day bowling tournament at Acton Athletic Association drew 22 rinks. Law's rink of Galt won with 4 wins and 29 points, Hussard's rink of Acton took second with 4 wins and 26 points, Hueter's rink of Guelph finished third with 3 wins and 24 points, and McAndraw’s rink earned fourth with 3 wins and 30 points. Weather was ideal for bowling.
Rev James W Boyd led the largest Orange Order gathering in Acton at a Sunday evening service at the Baptist Church. Members from Milton Georgetown Glen Williams Stewart Town Hornby Tweedges Guelph and the Lady True Blues plus the Lady Orange Benevolent Association attended. The procession was led by Acton Citizens Band and the Sons of Ulster Lodge Fife and Drum Band. The sermon from Joshua 24 16 urged a personal decision amid national crisis and highlighted Church and State separation and open Bible principles.
The Eastern District B A P U Rally at the Baptist Church attracted 200 delegates. Young People's societies from Georgetown Brampton Guelph Preston Kitchener Cheltenham Hillaburg and Orangeville were represented. Rev G W Brown led song service and Rev Andrew Imrie spoke on Overcoming the Humanly Impossible amid personal loss. Key officers elected included Rev J W Boyd president and Leslie Martin secretary treasurer. Supper followed social hour.
Owing to a misprint last week the score was corrected to show the Town team beating Acton Tanning 10 to 9. Acton Tanning now leads with four wins and two losses while the Town sits two games back as league leaders aim to sweep the schedule without a defeat. A note says Dominion Day holiday disrupted press, with full reports and standings coming in the next issue.
In Ontario Reformatory case Billy and two inmates faced Magistrate Wattta and received two year sentences to Kingston Penitentiary after a failed escape attempt. J Calter of Georgetown appeared for intoxication and wife assault before Police Magistrate Moore, admitting moonshine use. fined $10 and cautioned for improved behavior.
Rev Dr Moore delivers sermons at the United Church in Acton praising the new church union and the spiritual role of the church. He urges a broad vision, service to the community, and faith in God as steps toward a better world. Rev R B Zimmerman to arrive for inaugural sermons next Sunday.
Acton lost 10 to 2 Wednesday evening at Hillsburg after poor fielding and weak hitting. Gibbana pitched well for Hillsburg with Kentnor catching. Georgetown won Saturday by a large margin as Rockwood fades. standings show Georgetown six wins and Hillsburg two. Next week Georgetown visits Acton and Hillsburg hosts Rockwood.
Halton County schedules fall fairs with Oakville on September 18 19 Acton September 22 23 Burnington September 29 30 Mitton October 1 2 and Georgetown October 2 3 Schools follow with fairs at Baquesing Milton Nassigaweya Trafilgar Bronte Neladk Hornity Qurtington from September 16 to 29 30 culminating in a school fair championship on October 2.
