Last Sunday evening the United Church service was conducted by the Ladies Aid with a large congregation. Mrs Jas Symzin, president, oversaw the proceedings. Lakefront cockfight raid disrupts midnight crowd
Police raided a lakefront residence near Burlington just after midnight on Saturday to break up a cockfight. One hundred fifty spectators fled as twenty-one roosters crowed atop cages while Chief Constable Lee J. Smith and Constable J. D. Dunham moved to stop the mob. About thirty cars with plates from distant regions were abandoned. Hive fighting cocks lay dead and twenty-five cases of beer were found in the house. Police secured the names of eighty-five witnesses.

G T Scott, longtime Erin Village businessman and public servant, died at his home from a heart attack suffered last Wednesday. He was 89 and had led in grain, potato and coal trades, served 25 years as School Board secretary, 41 years in municipal government, and presided over Shamrock Jockey Club. Survived by widow and three sons Walter Wilfred Rex. funeral held Tuesday.

Kinellay Ladas, a 1936 Shorthorn show winner and fifth in a 40-head senior bull calf class at the Chicago International Show, has been sold by Campbell Farms Moffat to Robt Cockeram Wychwood Farm Concord Ontario. Cockeram, active in Toronto mining circles, has acquired the farm and 9 stocking with a Shorthorn herd. Calf was under two at sale and fetched 700 dollars, signaling rising breed demand.
