Mutual Aid Firemen Elect New Officers
The Halton County Mutual Aid Fire Services held its annual election at the Georgetown Fire Hall on January 15. Knox CGT Group Holds First Meeting
Knox Presbyterian CGIT girls held their first WSR meeting in church rooms Monday evening in the absence of leader Mr J Greer. Car hits tree causes $400 damage and minor injuries
A passenger in a vehicle driven by John Russel of RR 2 Acton was injured when the car left Fourth Line north of No 7 Highway and struck a tree head on. Don Cunningham of RR 1 Guelph suffered a cut forehead and scalp lacerations. Constable Ray Andress of the District OPP reports $400 damage to the car.

Ukrainian Youth Federation to establish border camp at Acton
R B Dateper the solicitor for the Ukrainian National Youth Federation announced the purchase of 21 acres near Fairy Lake on the Acton border. The land, once owned by Mrs M Porty J W D Boothe and W Fost, will host cabins for children and later a college for adults. The group envisions thousands of feet of lake frontage and expects $38,000 total to fund initial development and water access rights. Construction to begin in early spring with about 160 children to start, rising to 200 by summer’s end.
