Fire at corner Malin and Church Streets
Early Saturday around 2:50 a.m. a fire in a three family frame house on Malin and Church Streets caused extensive smoke and water damage. The blaze started in bedding in the upstairs apartment occupied by Mr and Mrs Andrew Buchanan Jr and a 12 year old boy. Hector Lambert and Mrs Lambert discovered the fire and alerted others. Firefighters arrived quickly and had the fire under control in minutes saving other units. Total damage about 800 dollars. Buchanan couple were assisted to another apartment for the night. Police are investigating statements related to prior fires in that apartment.
