The Township of Eramosa council met January 10 1938 at 11 60 am in the Town Hall Rookwood to organize for 1938 following December 6 1937 election results. Reeve D F Morey and councillors D Gray A Lush W Pinkney T B Kelly took oath and seats. By laws set salaries road plans borrowing up to 20000 from Royal Bank and 13800 for road expenditure.

January Rockalong Institute meeting hosted by Mrs. Plank of RockWood faced poor roads limiting attendance. Hand Lost In Machine At Beardmore Plant
Samuel Hubble, a Beardmore & Co. worker, had his left hand caught in a setting machine. The severely mangled hand required amputation at the wrist. He received initial care locally and was taken to a Guelph hospital for further treatment. The incident recalls a prior loss of his right hand thumb in a previous threshing accident.

Death of Sir George Perldy Noted Canadian Leader
Sir George Perldy, a prominent figure in Canadian public life for over 300 years, died in Ottawa from a heart attack.
