Credit Valley Authority Plants 148000 Trees In 1962
The Credit Valley Conservation Authority reported in its annual release that over 148000 trees were planted in the 214000 acre watershed in 1962. About 100000 of these were on private lands through the tree planting service. Public attendance rose with more than 90000 visitors to Terra Cotta and Bellountain Parks. A $5.7 million flood control and water conservation plan will be presented in 1963, with work likely spanning several years. The authority spans Orangeville to Port Credit, includes sixteen municipalities and parts of four counties, and owns 1268 acres for development to sustain renewable resources.

Davies Celebrate 50 Years Married in Acton England
Mr and Mrs EB Davies of 3 Young Street Acton marked their 50th wedding anniversary with a family gathering at home Christmas Day. Married December 25 1912 at St Pauls Blackheath England they later moved to Limehouse Canada in 1920 and Acton in 1940. He is a retired carpenter now making bird houses and feelers. They have two living children Elsie and Ronald plus a son James who died in 1941 and five grandchildren. Messages and flowers arrived from England Florida and distant relatives. Mrs Davies crochets and knits while both enjoy gardening.
