Heavy ice and snow caused a wooden roof to collapse on a storage shed in Rockwood, burying two cars and farm equipment. The 80 by 20 foot shed owned by the village, with space rented by Harris Farm Machinery, remains unstable with walls at risk. Officials caution residents away as debris is cleared and damage totals await removal efforts.
Police pursue two stolen cars through Acton to Highway 7 and Main Street. The fleeing vehicle crashed into a hydro pole near Earl Van Norman's home after a Guelph officer attempted a traffic stop. The car, reported stolen in Toronto, was later found abandoned on Highway 400 near Toronto.
Forbes Cole crashed a car head on into a tree on Highway 25 north of Speevide Tuesday. He was released from Guelph General Hospital yesterday after suffering scalp facial and eye injuries. Const. William Bennett of North Halton OPP said the single vehicle collision involved Forbes Cole driving a car that was wrecked.
Nassagaweya Township urges 1957 tax delinquents to pay by month end or certificates will be entered on their properties. Esquesing Council was asked about dissolving Union School Section at Millon Heights to simplify bookkeeping and billing as councils would pay per pupil. Dogs require licences with future residents to buy licences. assessor Don M Millan will distribute tags, fees unchanged. Council officers attended the annualities convention with expenses listed at $509.77 plus a road superintendent voucher for 2054.5.
A six member committee was appointed Wednesday night by the arena action group to meet the building committee and explore possibilities for an Acton Arena. Attendees included Alf B. Mowal, R. Spichogel, Wo Watkins, J. Kewton, Poo McCristall, and Ken Hardman chaired the meeting. The group aims to oversee plans and discuss options without immediate shuttle services.
The Actuat Lions Club held a regular dinner meeting at the Stanton Hotel with guest Lion W Dalton Higgs from Toronto and Lion George Heslop from Georgetown. Two new members were welcomed, plans for the May 6 charter night were announced, and Lion Frank Tent was named general captain for the event.
John O'Gordon of Rockwood reported two wheels and tires stolen from his car on Tuesday morning. The vehicle had been iced in overnight on a Campbellville district farm lane, suggesting a preplanned theft.

Two minor accidents this week caused a total of 115 dollars in damage. On Tuesday Officer Moreau investigated a glue car crash at a Frank Toth Motors service station on Highway 7 where a Direct Winters Transport truck struck a plastic sign. On Wednesday Corporal Mason investigated a two car collision at Mill and Ma Streets involving Mrs. J. William Ob Acton and Vera Ruth Contini of Guelph, totaling 78 dollars in damage.
Friends and neighbors assisted last week when part of Fred McArthur's barn caved in under heavy ice. They worked to clear debris and are busy this week making repairs.

Constance Bon Moreau of the Acton O P P Detachment investigated a two car crash at the corner of Main Street and Knox Avenue Saturday morning. Garnet MacDougal of Eden Mills drove into a vehicle driven by Ed Lidken of Acton as Lidken attempted a left turn onto Knox Avenue. Damage was estimated at both vehicles totaling eighty dollars.
