The Acton Ontario firm Keates Organ Company, largest in the province, ships its 75th pipe organ this week. Former Air Force sergeant-instructor now runs a three-man operation producing high quality organs with parts imported from Europe and skilled craftsmen like Dieter Geissler voicing pipes. The plant has rails for expansion and showcases organs bound for St James Anglican Dundas, St Luke’s Peterborough, All Saints King City, and a forthcoming organ for St John’s Toronto.

Hour Battle At Rural Fire Reaches Over An Hour
Firefighters battled a chimney blaze at the farm home of Mr and Mrs William Frank near Nassaywatveya after an alarm disrupted a Monday night meeting. A ladder extended to the roof as streams and a fog nozzle fought the flames. Deputy Chief Bill Williams was lightly injured when a cement cap struck him. Firemen were treated to coffee, sandwiches, and pie upon leaving.
