Acton Public Utilities Commission Allocates Transfers and Meetings
The Acton Public Utilities Commission met Tuesday with Chairman M Symon present. They authorized a 500 transfer from Waterworks to General Account, approved several supplier payments, and discussed raising rental for Y M C A offices after consulting the Ontario Commission. Superintendent Chas Wilson was named delegate to two conventions and reported water pumping for last year.

The Dublin Literary Society raised 33.90 dollars at a Friday meeting. Proceeds were donated to the British War Victims Fund which funded aid like mobile canteens clothing and other essentials for bombed areas. The event included a film from Britain and schoolchildren songs and dancing.

The Bannockburn Women's Institute held its regular meeting January 27 at Miss Margaret Brown's home with Miss Edna Russell in charge. United Church Reviews Year of Gains and Farewell
The Acton United Church annual meeting reported gains in both general and financial areas. An initial deficit of about 250 was reduced to balance, with plans to eliminate it. Dr and Mrs Nelson were honored with a silver tray as they prepare to move to Guelph, sharing reflections on twenty years in Acton. Officers and stewards were elected, hymns led by E. Moore, and a sociable meal followed the service.
