Burglary At J. R. Mackenzie and Son Office
Thieves broke into the J. R. Mackenzie and Son plant office on Church Street Tuesday night stealing petty cash. A prior November break in had petty thefts as well. The Provincial Police are investigating the entries.
Three Injured in Rockwood Accident Saturday Afternoon
Three people including an 18 month old infant escaped serious injury when a car collided with a hydro pole in Rockwood Saturday afternoon. The Morrison vehicle, from Toronto, driven by Mrs. Morrison, veered to the roadside and rear ended a parked car owned by Fraser Plummer. The 12 inch hydro pole snapped at the base and damaged lines, with temporary repairs by hydro and Bell Telephone crews followed by a pole replacement and five hours of wiring work.

New Carding Machines Placed At Wool Combing Plant
New carding machines were unloaded at the Acton plant of the Wool Combing Corporation last Saturday and two more are due this week. The four machines will equip the French Combing section and, once in production this month, complete the section’s equipment.
