Con men thwarted by alert Acton resident

Boy Injured In Toboggan Under Car Incident
Arnold Gordon and Keith Croskin, 8 and 9, were tobogganing when their sled went under a moving car on Mill Street West near Lakeview Greenhouse. Gordon suffered a broken arm and cuts. Croskin had cuts and bruises. Both were rushed to Medical Centre and then to Guelph General Hospital. Gordon expected to stay several days. Croskin released after treatment. Arnold is son of Harold and Mrs. Gordon. Keith is son of Mrs. June Croskin.

First hydro meeting held in new building
Acton Hydro Commission members met for the last time in the Elgin Street office and for the first time in the new Alice Street building, all in one night. After readings and correspondence, they toured the new building and approved accounts totaling $34,065.07 for payment. The secretary was told to notify Morris Van Gils they would vacate January 31 and to prepare moving by December 28. A second progress payment of $27,164.70 to Whitney Construction was approved.
