District Trapper Killed On Highway
Trapper David Mannen, 71, of Acton was struck by a car on No. 7 highway three miles east of Guelph during a snowstorm last Thursday evening, December 20. He died on arrival at Guelph General Hospital. Mannen, who lived alone at Crewson's Corners, was returning from visiting his daughter Mrs. Alex Mochrie and was reportedly walking in the road when Paul Dumont, 23, of Guelph, swerved to avoid him. He is survived by a brother, Gilbert Mannen of Harrisburg, and his wife having died years ago.
