Warden John Irving of Milton was beat at the annual Wardens Dinner at the Milton Inn Friday evening. A musical program, strong Scotch accents, and sociable atmosphere highlighted the event. Granting of a gold headed cane to Irving by County Council members marked the high moment, with remarks by Reeve Currie and others.

Hockey Train Crash Injures Junior Players and Driver
A car owned by Jack McGeachie collided with a westbound CNR train Monday evening near Georgetown. Driver McGeachie suffered a knee injury and operation followed at Guelph General Hospital. several hockey players including Herb Woods were also hurt but the team continued to their game. Investigations by Chief McPherson and railway officials are ongoing.

Criminal negligence charge dropped in Halton court
Judge W N Munro dismissed a criminal negligence charge against Edward Wedge of Nassagawega Township after a collision occurred near Milton on May Ward. Filler, 21, of Georgetown, died hours after the crash at Guelph General Hospital. Evidence showed no one in the car saw the other vehicle approaching before impact. The defense argued the northbound view at the intersection was very poor.

Eramosa Council Concludes Year with Highway Brush and Sign Plans
The Eramosa Township council met at Rockwood Town Hall with Reeve D H Storey presiding. A Highway Department letter urged brush clearance and advance warning signs at railway crossings on township roads. The road superintendent was instructed to proceed. Arrangements were made to supply gravel and anti freeze material for icy hills. Accounts totaling 315,873.02, including 13,006.54 county rate, were approved and the council adjourned to January 10, 1945.

Christmas Concert at Knox S. S. Held Tuesday
Knox Sunday School held its annual Christmas concert in the church auditorium Tuesday evening. The program, led by Superintendent Lewis Brownlow, featured the Sunday School Orchestra, a India mission pageant by the Mission Band, carols led by Miss Bessie Rawlings, recitations by Primary pupils, a solo by Jimmie Spielvogel, lantern slides, and a chorus titled Santa Claus Is Coming Town before Santa distributed gifts in the Sunday school room.
