Friendly Circle United Group Holds Christmas Party
The Young Ladies Friendly Circle of the United Church hosted a Christmas party at LaVerne Smith’s home on Monday evening. Ruth Gib aon and LaVerne Smith ran games and contests, Doris Wilson won high prim and Miss Bennett won low prim, and each girl took a gift from the tree after contributing to the impromptu program.

The concluding meeting of the Acton Public Utilities Commission was held with Commissioners McCutcheon Hannen and Chairman Kerr. Oldest Business Block Swept by Fire on Monday
A fire destroyed a block of early 20th century frame buildings in Acton early Monday, damaging Dad’s Hamburger Stand and Masonry's meat shop. Fire brigades fought the blaze for four hours. loss estimated around 3000 dollars with some insured. Several residents evacuated in night attire as flames spread through the structure.

Thieves Take Car Packed with Turkeys in Milton
Aliens reportedly entered the Nixon garage on Monday night and stole his car loaded with 26 turkeys and 13 chickens from Montagu. The car was abandoned along Drumquin road after the theft. Poultry intended for the Acton Orremory Plant belonged to Mr. Nisan. Police and provincial spies investigate the theft and other garage break ins in Milton.
