Acton Council Concludes Year with Grants and Appointments
The Acton Council held its year end meeting with Reeve E Thetford presiding. Delegates requested a $50 grant to the Community Christmas Tree. the Reeve may pay approved accounts from corporation funds not exceeding fifty dollars for tree-related use. The council also appointed Joseph Hurst as Arena Secretary Treasurer for 1933-34 at ten dollars weekly and approved arena insurance renewals.

The minutes note payments to Levi Elsley J Marshall J W Moffat ACTON FREE PRESS Municipal World Blight White and others, and votes to credit Camphillville Police Village 400 Bramona 39 73. The Road Superintendent's vouchers totaled 575.93 and the council thanked Reeve Campbell for his courteous leadership.

The Public Utilities Commission met Tuesday afternoon with Commissioners L. G. King Reeve Thetford and Chairman R. J. Kerr present. The secretary was told to address arrears with a property owner or risk service discontinuation. The panel approved lighting for the Community Christmas Tree and ordered payment of multiple accounts including Hydro Bell Telephone Company and various suppliers totaling 2533.71. Salaries for Commissioners Kerr King and Thetford were approved at 25.00 each totaling 75.00.

More than a hundred guests attended the Estaminet in Burlington last Thursday to honor Warden W. N. Robinson Reeve of Oakville at the annual Warden's Dinner.
