Acton Council held a special meeting to grant two readings to a by law authorizing a 235000 debenture for erecting an addition to Acton Public School. The matter goes to the Municipal Board for consideration. Discussion with Veterans Land Act on a Hugh Graham property easement for sewer construction led to a survey plan and damages compensation clause. No sewer manhole will be placed except on the main line. Former agreement signed by all parties except Veterans Land Act officials.

He received a Frigidaire refrigerator a red cedar chest Prestoware utensils a bed lamp radio and a wrist watch shipped to Manning Electric Store Acton. The win was publicized by Hamilton and Toronto stations with Dron’s photo display in Manning’s window. He will spend the prize money as he awaits delivery and enjoys the prizes.

Large Trucks Bog In Service Break
A water service break on MAL St between Preterick and El win Sts caused two large trucks to sink into a hole in the road. A COS Denny truck became stuck, a bulldozer pulled it free, then another Tree Surgeons of Toronto truck also became stuck. The Waterworks Dept set a barricade and closed the road until repairs were finished.

Last Monday in Georgetown six councillors were contested. Frank Petch Lov Garfield McGilvray Harry Hale Norman Hill Thomas Lyons William Tuck and Fred Mc Nally competed with vote totals listed. The council switched to general voting after years of ward selection. A $250 grant to the Recreation Committee was approved. ratepayers voted Yes against No. Harold Cleave was re elected mayor for a fifth term and Marshall and McDonald began new terms as reeve and deputy reeve.
