Continuation School Commencement Packed the Hall
The Acton Continuation School held its packed commencement at Town Hall on Tuesday evening. The program featured the three act Pride and Prejudice with 26 cast members and notable musical numbers led by Acton Boys’ Hand and the School Choir under Miss Lynda Stewart. Prizes, diplomas, and trophies were awarded by officials including Dr. Oakes and Geo. W. Mazon to students across Secondary and Lower School levels.

In Acton the council and public utilities commission were chosen for 1945 with under forty percent turnout. Canadian corporal Nicolak earns promotion serving in Italy
Corporal William Nicolak of Acton Ontario serving with the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry in Italy has been promoted to Lance Sergeant. The promotion is well regarded by the men under his command. A separate Northern England team completed a full size tank landing craft in 47 hours 33 minutes for the U S navy.

The United Church Women's Association held its regular monthly meeting at the Parsonage with Mrs. D Richardson preaching. Acton Home Mourns Loss of Another Airman
Mr and Mrs S H McCron of Mil Street acknowledge the death of their son Sgt Samuel Wilfred McCron RCAF who was killed on active service and buried in Surrey England. This is the second son to pay the supreme sacrifice. His wife and son live at Fort William. He had enlisted two and a half years ago and served overseas five months.
