Ambulance Service Ending in January Council to Discuss With Urban Board
The Rumley Funeral Home ambulance service in Acton will cease January 1967. Bruce Shoemaker told the Acton council the Halton funeral directors voted to discontinue due to drawbacks and delays. He urged the town to consider alternative arrangements and noted unsuccessful efforts to find a successor. Local officials likened the issue to fire protection.

Acton high school held commencement exercises Friday evening in the Legion auditorium with a capacity crowd. Principal EA Harmen announced growth in enrollment since 1954 and noted plans to enlarge the building.
