Public auction on Thursday December 20 1823 at one o clock for horses cattle pigs harness and implements with terms cash under ten dollars and six percent on larger sums. Auctioneers A Kerr and Plank list items from heavy draft horses to Rhode Island roosters and turnips.
Advertises price cuts on hats from 7.00 to 2.75 and man’s and boy’s clothing. Shows reduced work shirts to 1.39 1.65 1.95 and sweater coats from 4.85 to 2.29 with limited sizes and branch store only clearance offers.
An offer for men’s suits at the branch store only. Prices listed at 10.00 and 16.75, mostly young men’s models in sizes 34 to 37 with plain two button styles and sport looks. Neat tweeds with values up to 25.00.
MEA offers suits for men and young men in near medium to dark patterns for winter wear. Single and double breasted models in sizes 3H to 42. not all sizes in every pattern. Substantially lowered price for quick clearance at 19.50 dollars.

Warehall Holmes dies at seventy four in Guelph after a stroke. He lived most of his life in Nassagaweya as a farmer on the homestead Lomehill Yarn, endured repeated bereavement, and is survived by daughters and other relatives. Funeral held at Nassagawega Presbyterian Church with interment there.
The Acton Free Library Board formed a committee to study a new building after noting inadequate shelving and space. Chairman WH Moore and Secretary MW Farmar led a meeting discussing up to 180 in new books and visiting houses to examine alternatives. The group will consult the provincial superintendent and report to the council promptly.
