The Acton United Church announces a church week schedule. The minister presents a sermon on verdict and its significance at 12 00 a m and 2 30 p m Sabbath School sessions follow. A prayer service is planned Thursday at 7 30 pm and the People’s League meets Monday for program planning.

Auction notices cover numerous local sales of cattle crops and household goods by Hindley and others with dates through December 14. Electors sparsely attended the adjourned meeting as Acton council members reviewed a year of work. Reeve Mason announced the main street pavement cost and finances. councillors touted progress in streets and waterworks, cemetery improvements, fire and light services, park projects, and a lower insurance rate.

Archie Arman on 3rd Mer e Trafalgar Township near Bdyne poured gasoline into a car tank inside a barn. A dropped drop of gas hit a lantern causing an explosion and the barn to burn with no rear exit. He escaped through flames but suffered severe burns to face and hands. A car, two cutters and farm implements were destroyed, with losses estimated over $2,000.
The large Acton town hall crowd heard Hon. E. C. Drury and Miss Isabel McCorkindale champion temperance, urging support for Progressive Pettit and the Ontario Temperance Act. Speaker W. J. L. Hampshire reviewed Ferguson’s government, while Magnus music by the Mason Orchras accompanied the rally. The meeting closed with the National Anthem.
In Milton and surrounding areas a series of minor criminal cases led to guilty verdicts and fines. William Anderson of Milton Heights was sentenced to three months in county jail for assault. Norman Gilmour faced a 26 and costs fine for operating a punchboard. A Milton man intoxicated at a Acton dance was fined 10 plus costs. Three Georgetown youths pleaded guilty to intoxication with one story of elderberry wine. A burglary case at Fomkey Mascig’s store involved whiskey stashed under a floor. storekeeper fined for intoxication. Inspections led to Mascia held on cash bond for three weeks.
Acton notes December events including a Christmas concert at Dufferin School and a women's institute meeting. The Main Street paving is complete and a St Alban’s bazaar is planned. A Park Improvement Committee meeting is scheduled, and merchants showcase elaborate window displays. He preached on self denial and loyalty to God from 2 Samuel 23:16 and on the theme Growing a Soul from Luke 21 19, praising the congregation and choirs and noting generous support exceeding the $700 goal.
Toronto attorney Hugh John McDonald to appeal Bert DAngelo's four year manslaughter sentence in Milton. McDonald argues the OT A offense may not be culpable homicide and that verdicts on the Maynebee and Guertin counts were inconsistent with the same liquor served to both defendants.
