Miss Minnie Bennett to Move to Waterloo Saturday
Longtime educator Miss Minnie Z Bennett, Acton school principal 1913 to 1939 and seventh Citizen of the Year in 1964, is moving to Parkwood Manor Waterloo this Saturday. Her Lake Ave home sold and an auction last week circulated many of her belongings among former pupils and collectors. The 1903 start of her teaching career began at Clay Hill school near Glen Williams with a salary of 325 dollars a year.

Industrial centre rents final 9000 feet space in Acton

Carol Swackhamer an 18 year old teacher from Acton Halton won Halton Dairy Princess title and captured a first step toward Ontario Dairy Princess crown at the Canadian National Exhibition grounds. 100 Girls Face Leader Shortage In Local Guiding Units
Mrs Lowrie plans centennial day in the park but faces a critical drop in leaders with only one remaining. Three Brownie packs two Guide troops and a Ranger group need one leader and an assistant each. Over 100 girls are in Brownie and Guide training.
