The Acton Flower Show fourth annual event took place in the drill hall last Wednesday in ideal weather. Mrs. William Hall led the committee, with newcomers among exhibitors showing promise. Prizes honored Marjorie Hall and George Mann for superb arrangements and collections, while Mason's Orchestra provided music and the refreshment booth served visitors. The balance sheet shows a positive outcome despite fewer entries than prior years.
Acton residents plus 200 guests enjoyed a band picnic at Huttonville Park on a sunny Saturday. A special Toronto Suburban Electric Railway train carried picnickers from Acton to the event with races, games, a softball match, tug of war and prize distribution. The Bandmaster Mason led festivities and thanked the citizens for their support.

Named graduates include Helen Coxe Ralph Henderson Helen McDonald Wilrose Reid Lovena Richardson Milton Watson Margaret Young. Special lighting will illuminate the Acton Citizens' Band One Big Night in the park tomorrow evening.

A Saturday forenoon crash at a third line railway crossing near the Dolly Varden works in Acton, part of the Toronto Limo Company route, claimed Bert Weaver of Coboconk. His car stalled on the west rail as the 10.40 Toronto passenger train struck it, killing Weaver who died later at Guelph General Hospital. Eight children survive him. funeral held at Knox Church.
Arrangements set for an Edgewood Park Old Boys Re union on September 7 featuring a baseball tournament with teams from Arkell Brookville Yorita Eden Mills and Progress Lodge Guelph. A Halton Wellington tug of war and racing events are planned plus a band concert and evening pavilion dance.
