The largest cattle shipment handled by Rockwood International Ltd. from Georgetown was loaded into 16 cars on August 5 bound for Milan Italy. Ao Ladina of Milan bought 550 Holsteins via Rockwood during a Ontario buying trip with interpreter Severing Braida. Cattle traveled by rail to Montreal then by ship to Genoa before reaching Italian farms. The sale topped prior records and president Les Midlington forecast larger consignments ahead.

A hay rake attached to a farm tractor damaged a parked car on Mill Street owned by Frank Toth Sr. The left rear door and rear panel were dented in an incident Tuesday near the Toth business. The actor driving the vehicle from RL R. 4 Acton was employed at the McNair mushroom plant south of Acton.
