The Good Will Club announces two for one votes on cash purchases and account payments this Saturday as part of its contest. Merchants will issue double votes, with cash prizes and special awards to top contestants, including Mrs Selahman and Audodrey-Chalmern.
Erin Township Municipal Council met at Hillaburg with all members present. The Reeve John McFee oversaw approving minutes, authorizing tax-sale withdrawal for Mr Geo M Fox, and insuring township road employees with premium 75 cents per payroll 1600 dollars, government covering 80 percent. Several accounts were paid and a list of prize awards announced for a vote results and subscriptions with multiple individuals named.

The Georgetown United Church Young People's Union captured the Halton Presbytery softball championship at the Presbytery picnic in Bronte. Georgetown defeated Curlale 9 to 7 in a tight final and the day featured afternoon softball finals and group games, with the Four F Club of Hamilton organizing activities and a camp fire singing session.
St Andrew's Boys' Band of Galt will visit Acton on Sunday evening for a concert in the park. The program starts at 7.30 p.m. A collection will be taken to defray expenses. Arrangements were made by Acton Citizens Band.

The annual picnic at Mys W Muasates lawn featured games for children and adults. Winners included Helen Johnson and Joyce Greer in girls under 6, Jack Stewart and Ronnie Salt in boys under 10, with events like Rolling Pin and Kicking Shoe won by various participants. A picnic lunch followed and thanks were given to Mr. and Mrs. Masales for hospitality and transport.
Winbere in the Standing Field Crop Competition of Acton announced this week. Secretary Wright has forwarded scores of entrants. Notable participants include George M. Hart of Woodstock, A Swackhamer Acton, Hugh M. Reid Acton, J E Pearen Acton, Harold L. Griffin Acton, and others with scores ranging from 18 to 86 in various districts.
The sixth annual Blakelock picnic at Oakville drew about 1,000 residents. Premier Hepburn gave a campaign speech criticizing the opposition and defending labor rights and provincial finances, with MPs Cleaver and Blakelock also addressing debt, timberlands, and government achievements.
Robert Dickson of Detroit failed to heed a turn and slowed near Queen and Young Street causing a collision with a truck owned by Wilfred Sacmeteris of Acton. Damages totaled about 100 to the truck and 200 to the car. Dickson and his two daughters escaped with minor injuries. he was fined 10 dollars and costs after Magistrate Bull's ruling on rock leaf driving.
The Acton Public Utilities Commission held a Tuesday meeting with Chair RJerr and Reeve P J McCutcheon present. It approved deducting a 15 dollar allowance on three wire service installations, listed several accounts for payment, ordered three transformers for hydro and storage, and accepted W R Lashbrook’s bid to reroof the River Street warehouse for 38.30 with completion by September 1.
A combined picnic by the Women's Missionary and Ladies’ Ald Societies met indoors in the church school room due to bad weather. Mrs Caldwell spoke on Temperance and Missions and led a bean guess, proverb contest, and other activities as Mrs Hawthorne and others assisted.
Douglas Ritchie a Guelph youth remained unconscious in Guelph General Hospital after a fractured skull suffered when struck by an unknown man at a Norfolk Street beverage room last Friday night. Police investigate to identify the assailant.
Announced under the Coming Events heading the Nelson Essay Entertainment will be held in Palermo Hall on Friday August 27 where prisms will be awarded the Dr Anson and Keturah Buck Memorial Competition.
